HammerWX runs on your PC. Dual-pane Level III radar, storm tracks, severe overlays, lightning, fronts, Level II plan / cross-section / 3D, and SHARP-style analysis — with a one-year license and offline activation. No web login. No server ingest required.
After install: Help → Check for updates pulls new builds from this site. SmartScreen may warn on unsigned builds — use More info → Run anyway if prompted.
Storm intelligence
Storm tracks, MESO / 3DC shear / TVS / hail POSH, attributes table, watch/warning polygons, click-to-inspect.
Surface & lightning
WPC fronts, SPC outlook, LSRs, and GLM lightning — public feeds, clipped to radar range when you want focus.
Level II analysis
Plan view, map-cut cross-sections A→B, radar-ray cuts, and soft-blend 3D volume from the site volume on your PC.
Right-click analysis
Right-click the map for sounding, L2 plan, map cut, or 3D using the nearest NEXRAD to that point.
SHARP-style hodo
Layer-colored hodograph (0–3 / 3–6 / 6–9 / 9–12 km), Bunkers RM/LM, SRH, shear, CAPE/CIN panel.

Licensing
- Commercial 1-year offline RSA license keys
- Activate in-app (Help → License…) or on first launch
- Optional bind to machine ID (Copy ID on activate dialog)
- Vendor issues keys with the included License Tool
How it works
- Your PC downloads radar directly from public sources (Unidata AWS, IEM, etc.) — not from a HammerWX cloud ingest.
- No browser control panel and no site login. This website is for download and updates only.
- Installed apps check https://hammerwx.com/desktop/updates/latest.json for new versions.
System requirements
- Windows 10 or 11 · x64
- Internet connection for live radar and public weather layers
- Optional: Ollama on the same PC for local AI weather briefs (never required for radar)
